Love to Knit was founded by Rose Leng, who has over 30 years of knitting experience before she came to New Zealand in 2010. With an eye for details, she takes proud in every single piece of her work. The goal of running Love to Knit is to enrich her social life in this new country. Working with new people here not only allows her to make new friends and understand the local culture, but also improve her crafting skills. Every piece of her work is handmade and she only uses the best New Zealand yarn in order to achieve perfection.
New Zealand (Aotearoa in Māori) is an island country in the south-western Pacific Ocean comprising two main landmasses (the North Island and the South Island) and numerous smaller islands. The country is situated some 1,500 kilometers (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea, and roughly 1,000 kilometers (600 mi) south of the Pacific island nations of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be found by humans. New Zealand was one of the last major landmasses settled by humans. Radiocarbon dating, evidence of deforestation and mitochondrial DNA variability within Māori populations suggest New Zealand was first settled by Eastern Polynesians between 1250 and 1300, concluding a long series of voyages through the southern Pacific islands.
